Property:  Single-family-home in Garden Grove, Orange County, CA

Background: Owner was “renting” areas in backyard to individuals and families living in plywood shanties, abandoned motorhomes and other illegal structures with no plumbing or electricity. The backyard became a distribution location for stolen goods.

Resolution: Some occupants (including a family with three young children) were provided assistance to relocate from the dangerous property. The unsafe structures and abandoned motorhomes were removed and the house was brought back up to code.
